From design to walk-through
How Highland Builds Your Barn
A 7-step process from 3D design to final walk-through — engineered for Midwest weather, built by our own crews.
Step 1: Design
Days 1–3Use the 3D configurator OR call us; no commitment. We confirm the build is right-sized for your site.
Step 2: Quote
Days 3–5Engineered, itemized quote within 1 business day; financing options included so you can plan the full picture.
Step 3: Site visit
Week 2A Highland project manager walks the site to confirm zoning, permit requirements, soil, drainage, and crew access.
Step 4: Permit + engineering
Weeks 3–6Highland handles your county permit office submission and stamps engineered drawings to your county snow load and frost depth.
Step 5: Materials
Weeks 6–8Steel, lumber, and hardware ordered and staged. We hold inventory in our Loveland yard so weather delays do not blow the schedule.
Step 6: Build
Weeks 8–12In-house Highland crew on a weather-aware schedule. Daily status updates from your project manager — no contractor ghosting.
Step 7: Walk-through + warranty
Week 12+Punch-list walk-through, structural warranty handoff, and complete documentation package for your records.
